These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Compass, a career-assessment product for A-Level and IB students ("Compass", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the assessment, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Compass.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you confirm that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use Compass. You must provide accurate information when signing up (including a working email address, since we use it to verify your account and deliver your report) and are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity under your account.
The 100-question assessment and your basic results — your RIASEC scores and Holland code — are free to take and view. Your last 90 answers, including any free-text responses you write, are saved to your account as you go so you can pause and resume later.
Unlocking your full AI-generated career report (matched careers, a wildcard career, careers to avoid, education pathway, and next steps) is a one-time payment of $9, processed securely by our payment provider, Stripe. This is a single charge, not a recurring subscription — we do not store or have access to your card details. Your report is generated and unlocked only after Stripe confirms the payment succeeded. Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable once your report has been generated, since the report is produced specifically for you at that point. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us and we'll look into it.
Your report is generated using a third-party AI model (via our provider, Groq) based on your assessment scores and your written answers. AI-generated guidance can be incomplete, generic, or occasionally inaccurate. Your report is informational and is intended to support — not replace — your own judgment, a school career counselor, or other professional advice. We don't guarantee that any suggested career, subject, or pathway is suitable for you.
You own your responses. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive license to view, save, and share your own report for your personal, non-commercial use (for example, with family, teachers, or a counselor). Compass, its assessment questions, scoring methodology, and software remain our property and may not be copied, resold, or used to build a competing product.
You may stop using Compass at any time. To close your account and request deletion of your data, email us at the address below — we currently handle deletion requests manually and will confirm once it's done, rather than through an in-app self-service button. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Compass is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any career, academic, or financial decision you make based on your report.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Compass after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
